my Goal...

Hi, This is my first time trying to build a computer. I've done a lot of research, yet I still feel very overwhelmed... In the past, I've always bought pre-built computers.. so only a few weeks ago have i actually laid eyes on computer parts.. um.. I've set a budget of $1000(not including the operating system), although i definitely wouldn't mind saving as much as possible. I'm a bit of a gamer, Ex. Civ 4, COD and LoL (which is amazing..). I would like to record and edit videos without lagging as i play. i'm looking to build a med-energy efficient( gotta save the planet, while gaming ofc...) and med-high gaming computer, if that's even possible....

So this is where I am at so far....

Please feel free to make any suggestions, critiques, or explanations. I also have questions like if this is compatible, or any bottle-necking going on. And finally, thanks for taking the time to read this.

Solution
For a build with one graphics card use a mb with a 970 series chipset . The ASUS M5A97 R2.0 is a great choice and saves you enough to consider upgrading the graphics card to a Radeon 7950

You need a 500 - 600 watt psu . Use only 80 + bronze or better rated units

Since you have the video requirement as well you will need more RAM . A 2 x4 gig kit is ideal . 1600 Mhz and rated for 1.5 volts or less .
