I have an old Compaq Evo D300v with an old pentium 4 processor clocked at 1.7ghz and 500 mbs of ram. This old machine has 3 available PCI expansion slots and i was wondering if a pci wifi adapter like this one

would work on the computer. It's running Lucid Puppy 5.28 and I am wondering if this would be compatible. If not and you know of a card for cheap on amazon that can do it please post it if you dont mind.
Thank you for your time

Practically anything with an Atheros chipset (including the wireless card you linked) will work with Linux. Reviews in that link show it working with Ubuntu, which Puppy is based off of.

Depending on the chipset inside it, it could work. You can find out what is in the adapter by doing a Google search. As a rule, though, you are safe with an Atheros-based adapter on Linux.
