Hello,
I have a fairly new system, GTX 780, i7 4770k, windows 7 pro, 32gb ram, Asus mb z87 maximus, power supply 1000w cooler master silent pro gold a/uk cable.

Whenever I run a game, I play for a few minutes, then all of a sudden strange white squares fill the screen. PC freezes, then screen turns black and shuts down. PC still runs, but nothing on screen. I have to restart, but then there are white horizontal lines on the screen, so I have to restart again, or completely power off and then on, until the screen looks normal again. I have managed to take photos of my screen which I will attach.
Please help.

This is what happens in game:

Sometimes this is what I get after the restart:

Please help, and thanks.

You can use software like MSI Afterburner to monitor the temperature. However, I'm not sure what a good temperature is for a GTX 780 (Sorry, I'm on the Red Team).

I think MSI is pretty much the go to for all GPU's. I run it for my GTX 560TI.

As cklaubar has suggested use this tool to check the temperatures. Also you can use FURMARK to stress test the GPU. Furmark shows the temps as it stress tests.
