Tidying up my year old build

Hi there, I'm new to the forums, so first off - hello :)

I know there are a lot of knowledgeable users here and that's why I've decided to come here for a bit of advice.

I've got a bit of money to spend, and I've decided to invest it into my current build. I live in an incredibly dusty household with quite a few pets so my PC is regularly clogged with dust - making it a bit frustrating to clean so often.

I have a Corsair 300R case, and have done since last christmas. I am sick of the inability to remove the front fan filters without dismantling the entire case. Dust regularly gets clogged up in those front intake fans (and everywhere else on the case) and it's a pain to think I have to remove a lot of the case to even get to the filters everytime I want to do a regular clean. It's driving me nuts. :(

So, I think it might be time to look at a new case that's a little easier to maintain and clean. It's a great case, don't get me wrong, but with all the vents and holes on it that are really hard for someone like me (who lives in a house with quite a few pets and in a dusty environment) to clean and maintain, it's just a burden. I was looking at the Fractal Design R4 - it's had a ton of positive reviews and also has an easily removable front panel and fans, as well as fan vents that are covered when not in use.

Another thing is the current CPU fan I have - a hyper 212 evo, which is an incredible cooler (and have also had it since last christmas) - it's a little on the massive side and of course, as it is an air cooler, it attracts a lot of dust. Would it be wise to invest in a water cooler like a h80i for a lower profile? Which brings me onto my next bit...

I have a non-modular Corsair 650W PSU that has served me well for about 5-6 years now (if I remember correctly). I haven't invested in a new one because, well, it does the job. But after the desire to get a new case and sort out my dust (and I know dust doesn't help the heat of the system) problem, I was looking at modular PSU to minimise the amount of cables in my system. Would it be wise to upgrade to a modular PSU solely for these reasons?

One final question from me - as a guy that loves sound, I am looking at also investing in a Creative Titanium HD sound card. However, the only decent place I can position it in my PC is at the bottom PCI-E x4 slot. If I put the sound card in this slot, will it affect the performance of the top x16 lane, where my GPU is sat? (for reference I have a Gigabyte Z77-D3H)

Sorry for the lengthy post. I am just a little stuck on what to do here - whether it's worth the money for a bit of convenience and tidiness/heat improvements, or not.

Some advice would be great :)
