hi all

i just bought Acer Aspire V7-581 windows 8 (without touch screen). following are the specifications:

- Its windows experience index is 5.4

- Processor is Intel core i5-3337u CPU @ 1.80 GHz

- Installed RAM is 12 GB (11.9 in use)

- System type is 64-bit OS, x64-based processor

- 2 cores

- details in information center which is in graphics properties:
- Intel HD Graphics 4000 (latest updated few days back), video BIOS: 0.0 (no idea what that is), current graphics mode: 1366 by 768 (no idea what that is)
- installed and supported DirectX version: 11.1
- Shader version: 5.0
- OpenGL* version: 4.0
- physical memory: 12163 MB
- gamma: 2.2

- in DXDIAG window it says:
- BIOS: V2.06
- memory 12288MB RAM
- DirectX: 11
- approx. total memory: 1792MB

UFFF!!...k so now coming to my main question(s)...

i installed the game and the installation went fine and the game launched but while the launch it said the video card is not recognized and then when i reached the selection screen i couldn't select anything, that is, i couldn't start a new game or click/see options nor could i click/see exit button.

WHY SO??!! :(

spores works well but during the game-play...the textures are all missing...why???

dragon age 2 keeps crashing at the max resolution and max settings (only the extra options like shadow details and field view, etc are all not selected)

also i installed assassins creed 3 it played well up till when i was standing in the Boston tunnel and where i had to solve the puzzle, except i couldn't see the symbols.

also i tried running splinter cell with DX 11 and the game was crappy and slow and choppy but with dx9 it was gr8 but still crashed whenever i would minimize or go for the internet browser.

and all these games are downloaded as im not rich/don't earn so cant spend money on games and parents are willing to buy anything but games (obviously)

please HELP! and REPLY ASAP

thx
ash

Please don't tell me you bought a prebuilt pc....

The problem is the intel graphics, it's way too weak for gaming. Hopefully there is room in your pc to add a graphics card. A $70 7770 will let you run the games you want smoothly.

thx for the reply :)

ammm what did u mean when u said prebuilt pc!!??
amm...i bought the ultrabook that was in display in future shop...

...so u mean theres absolutely no way around...i mean i dont earn and my parents arent going to alow it... so is there any way at all.. :(  :'(
and plus im also currently using this for my 3d animation course so they basically bought this so i could study (only) so if i get some or the other upgrade and such i might end up harming the ultrabook...at the hands on the repairer that is...they arent gonna see the fact that i need the ultrabook instead they are gonna see that by them introducing small problems here and there i would have to keep going to them every now and then...well thats my experience with my macbook which is lying in the junkyard now... :'(

please lemme know...HELP!

thx

That i5 at 1.8 gig speed with onboard video is not so good for games.
Since it's a laptop, and an ultrabook especially, no upgrading it. You can try playing the games at low settings and go up a bit if they run fine that way, or lower the resolution.

Not to mention the fact that if the games were not from legal disks who knows what's in them or how they were hacked.

So it's a laptop I see.... Try and return it and get one with an AMD A8 or AMD A10. If you can stretch try and get one with an nvidia graphics card.
