XFX Radeon HD 5570 on PCIe 1.1 slot?

I have ordered XFX Radeon HD 5570 1GB PCIe 1.1 x16 graphic card but my motherboard DELL 0GM819 has a PCIe 1.1 x16 slot. Will it work on it with 305w PSU?

  1. Well, looking at the above I see no issue here, both the lanes are identical, and the 300w should be enough.
  2. I believe it will work, but I'm not entirely sure what the system requirements are.
  3. I am listing my full system specs so you can understand better:

PC: Dell Optiplex 755 Mini Tower
    CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 @2.33Ghz
    Motherboard: DELL 0GM819
    Chipset: Intel Q35 (Bearlake-Q) + ICH9DO
    BIOS version: A22 (Released 1/4/2013)
    Memory: 3GB DDR2
    Motherboard Slots: 2xPCI, 1xPCI Express x1, 1xPCI Express x16
    PCI Express Version Supported: v1.1
    PSU: 305W

The XFX Radeon HD 5570 is a PCIe 2.1 x16 graphic card. That's why I'm concerned because I have read somewhere that PCIe 2.1 cards doesn't work properly on PCIe 1.x slots.
  4. It has the X16 express lane which is the only thing you need.
  5. So it will PCIe 2.1 card will work on PCIe 1.1?

All versions of PCIe are backwards compatible, there is a technical loss of performance, but its nothing that shows up anywhere, as that card is not powerful enough for it to show up. You could run a 7950 on that slot, you couldnt support it with the rest, but it would run on the slot.
