Yes because when i bought my computer with win vista i upgraded the mobo and now i have the asus vista upgrade to win 7 but it is no longer an asus mobob so will it still work?

Please note that, in your Windows 7 Home Premium edition, you might have limit of 4GB of RAM as maximum supported memory if it is 32bit. Check your OS, whether it is 32bit or 64bit.

As you say, you paid $$$$(for figure), I guess it should be 64bit. ;)
