Hello,

I recently bought Gigabyte AMD Radeon HD 7750 1GB OC ( GV-R775OC-1GI rev. 1.1).
PSU is 600W Corsair,
MOBO is Gigabyte GA-X48-DS5 with bios F6,
processor Core 2 Duo E8400,
Windows XP SP3.

Previously I was using GTX 285, but it was too loud and was missing HDMI.

Firstly, I installed HD 7750 in motherboard. Logged into windows and installed drivers given by Gigabyte. Installation gone smoothly. Reboot...
Starting ongoing, and just before logging screen mouse cursor showed up and dissapeared - then card's fan loudness got very high - blank screen - and thats the end. Cant do anthing - just reset by force or switch off by button.

Tried with '13-4_xp32_dd_ccc_whql.exe' - the same,
also vga_driver_amd_xp_8.982.exe - the same,
and amd_radeon_8.981.2.1_hotfix_winxp.exe.

The only way to get into logged windows is to use safe mode or vga mode...

But then I see not 7750 but HD 7700 in properties.... any clue way??
Also if I want to get to catalyst center, it says that this GPU is not recognizable... (I suppose HD 7700...)
I also used driver sweeper, removing graphics in control panel and installing 13-4 driver version, happens the same....

So it took me almost two days to give up... Also in process I reverted back to GTX 285 and it was just download and install and it goes...

You should find another computer to test the graphics card first. if it still doesn't work, the problem is probably because of hardware failure like GPU, which official driver can't work on it.

It's normal that the system shows HD 7700 in safe mode when specific driver doesn't activated.
