Hello there, i've been using 16GB of ram for a while now and a stick just failed on me, since the shop doesn't sell a stick alone, unless its a 8GB stick i think of buying one, but i wonder will both of them work together?
so its 3x4GB stick and 1x8GB stick all at 1600Mhz cosair vengeance ram

What mobo and CPU? It's not a good idea to mix DRAM, it can be problematic....if you were to try, how it would run depends on mobo and CPU, many now utilize 'flex' mode where they would run 16GB in dual channel and the odd 4 in single channel (just to clarify), if Corsair believe should be ander Warranty
Well, if your MB can support 20 GB, then it should work. You will be limited to single channel mode as you need matching capacity sticks in order to enable dual channel mode. If I couldn't get a replacement 4 GB stick, I would just take out the 2nd stick and just use 8 GB. It will work fine unless you are doing really memory intensive tasks, like video editing and rendering.

The thing to note with higher capacity modules they will have higher timings so your 4gig modules will have lower timing's while your 8gig module even though it would be the same brand model ect.... would be slightly off which could cause errors in the future. Most of the time unless you modded or took the heat spreader off your ram module most companies will honor an rma replacement. Like I use g.skill and I sent my ram in rma they sent me a whole new kit within a week. so normally rma will vary on the company but corsair has a good name and from what I've experienced will honor any rma please reefer over to this website for more info http://www.corsair.com/en/support/warranty/
