Hey, I know i5 is better but also 85 Dollars more, is it worth it? It streches my budget but going for 6300 will give me money for a Hyper 212 EVO and overclock, i will have 7950 for Graphics

Opinions?
Thanks

Go with the FX. You count all the right reasons.

With that money saved, you could go 7970 over the 7950.

what about 8320 ? because 6300 will bottlekneck 7970 a little bit in some games.

8*** is same price as i5, I don't have the money, which I don't have for 7970 either so:
MSI 970A-G46 with FX 6300 and 7950

Good to go! Thanks!

Well I got an i5 4430 for £101 off ebay retail boxed copy. You can always look around, the i5 4440 will make games that are cpu bound gains lots of fps. The current fx cpus are very poor gaming cpus as they arebasically old gen cpus with 5 year old memory controller and the ipc is very poor. Hence why you should get an i5. It always makes me laugh when people think you save money with amd, lets see the fx6300 has no igpu is on 32nm vs intel cpu on 22nm is twice as slower per cores at same clock speed and takes generally 100w more power consumption which costs you more money in the long run and costs only like £40 more for much more.

To be honest these days an i5 4440 with a 7950 will get much higher fps then an fx6300 with 7970 as the fx6300 won't be able to push the graphics card as the cpu will be on the limit already.

Oh, I was typing, didn't see your answer, I would easily chose i5 over FX if I had the money, still think you stand on a good point which I fully agree with. For my needs I really think a 6300 will do just fine! Thanks anyways!

The 6300 will do just fine, and if you overclock it, you will see even better performance. You won't bottleneck a HD 7950 with that CPU, as it will push a pair of HD 7970s in Crossfire just fine.

Good luck with your build.

It will bottleneck one 7950 let alone two. An fx6300 at 4.5ghz maybe will just about handle one 7950. You won't gain fps in any cpu demanding game with 2 7970's over 1 so the op will have to oc the fx6300 to 4.5ghz just about to handle the 7950 at 99% gpu load in games.

Where are any benchmarks showing that a 6300 can't run a 7950? It's not like we're talking about an i3 that can't run even a 7870 well, much less a 7950.
