32gb. Not because i need it, but but because i want it. And i need w/e can use it most effectively. But the more i read the more that 16gb of 1600 DDR3 memory is more than enough. Thoughts?

This is what ive come up with thus far: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1HuQs

cpu: i5 3570k or i7 3770k or i5-4670K (just tell me what the best gaming cpu is lulz)

Most importantly i need to be able to upgrade this rig by late next year for star citizen :)

e: ive also read about dual gpus. never done it. I assume that the memory would better be served with double gpus?

Oh well, I was just saving you some money :)
I think that it will be between the 770 and the 780! Plus, you'll have Mantle and Frosbite, which a lot of games will be optimized when using these new cards, for example BF4! You can read all about them...

What is your field of use? You posted an empty list btw.

I'd go with 4770k in your case, seems like multithreading is gonna pay off for you and whilst not much more expensive than the 3770k, it's a bit better.

empty list? oops, changed the link. sry about that.

Field of use? The title says "gaming rig", if this is what you are asking.

As for price, nothing more than 2,500.

I have a heatsink just as that on my current PC and it doesnt give me any issues. But i like the idea of liquid cooling because it takes up less space, looks cool, and should be better.

I did add a hard drive to my fit but with only 1T. my current PC has .5T and i never had a problem.

Is this card comparable to the GTX 770? Thx.

I'll probably buy a R9270X as soon as they're out :)

You stated your budget was $2,500 with that being said, as a EXAMPLE I have put together serveral Public Wish List on Newegg of complete systems most of which can be modified & or you can select components you like. The following is a Z77 / 1155 / but you can easily modify it to your wishes. To review the other systems, go to Newegg / Wish List / Public Wish List & type in GUNNY1966
LINK: http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=28252867 This set-up is $2.065.84
I prefer using the Newegg Wish List feature as it provides all the information as well as the cost!
