I noticed today that one of my fans seems to be running inconsistent speed, as it seems to increase in pitch and then decrease every few seconds. It seems to be at the top of my case at the back, but I am not sure. I would like to know any solutions you might have. Thanks.

You should be able to disable the speed control for it in BIOS.

A speed controlled fan will change RPM's depending on system temperature. It's supposed to do that if you were thinking it was a problem.

My fan is running at 2.3k rpm while my CPU temp is idling at 50-55c. I know its the CPU fan as I turned down the Max speed and it was a lot quieter.

And it seems to be changing rpm even when I'm not doing anything, and it doesn't look like its changing by much

I got that slightly wrong: Core 0: 45c
Core 1: 40c
Core 2: 30c
Core 3: 35c

It still seems strange that my fan is running at so high all the time, there is a smart fan control option to set ideal CPU temp but I don't know what temp is ideal. Would an aftermarket cooler make it quieter? And also cooler because my room gets boiling!
