I have MSI 760gm-p34 Motherboard
and I bought a Corsair 500w CX PSU
and the PSU doesn't have the 4 PIN connector to go into my motherboard.
Is this required?
Thanks.

It should have a connector mot likely called cpu that is 8 pin. This 8 pin connector should be able to split into 2 x 4 pin connectors. One of those 4 pins is what you need.

And yes the 4 pin is NEEDED for the board to work as it powers the cpu.

It is necessary and that PSU should come with the connector, it may be a 4+4pin plug because some motherboards have an 8 pin CPU connector. If your PSU doesn't have that connection then some one at the factory messed up and you need to send it back.
