Total newbie here. This is my first build from scratch. My son and I just updated his system and due to my shopping error (decided last minute to buy an ASUS Z87-Pro instead of a Z77 board and neglected to notice that a 4th gen processor was required. I ended up with an "extra" Intel i5 3570K processor, that I could return...until I saw the performance of my son's computer compared to my circa 2010 Alienware Aurora...OMG...MUST UPGRADE. Which brings me here.)

Sooo, would you kind persons please review this list and see if there are any compatibility issues or if I am missing anything? Any suggestions for improvement/cost cutting are welcome!

Timing: Ready to buy now.
Location: California, USA

Case: Rosewill Blackhawk Gaming ATX mid tower with 5 fans, window side panel, top HDD dock ($89.99) (Video Card Concern: Specs say "Supports up to 11.8" (30cm) length VGA card (HDD cage NOT removed". Card (below is 11.61"L x 5.08"W x 1.69"H). I am really struggling with what case to get. This one has lots of fans, which is the draw as I don't want to mess with liquid cooling. I would prefer to stay with a smaller tower, but space really isn't an issue so a full size tower would be fine as well.

Solution
CPU's generate a lot of heat, if OCing it (and figured you would with the K model) you'll want a good cooler, the case should handle all fine, it's a little over 8" wide

I was hoping all the fans on the case and the video card would counter heat issues. Do you feel the case selected will have adequate room for a cooler considering the motherboard and video card selected? The card seems pretty beast size wise. From reading the measurements of the case, it barely squeaks in there.

Thanks! :) That's pretty cheap insurance. This cooler/fan replaces the fan that comes in the box with the processor, right?

Hi Again. I put everything together, but I am struggling with the case fans. The motherboard has the following connections:
CPU-FAN1 (4 pin) - Hyper EVO 212 fan
PWR-FAN1 (3 pin)
CPU-FAN2 (3 pin)
CHA-FAN1 (4 pin)
CHA-FAN2 (3 pin)
CHA-FAN3 (3 pin)
The Chassis has 5 fans. 2 front, 1 rear, 1 top and 1 side. All have big connectors. The power supply is modular. One of the "extra" cords has several plugs: an end to plug into the power supply, 3 connectors that match the fan connectors and a plug that matches a plug on the motherboard (it's a small 4 pin connector). Can I use that cord? And if I do use it, do I plug it into the power supply, the fans (3) AND the motherboard? Sorry for the dumb question, but I am losing sleep lol.

Another related question: Can I use all the unused fan connectors for chassis fans even though there are only 3 fan connections labeled for chassis use? (can I plug a chassis fan using an adaptor into the PWR-FAN1 and CPU-FAN2?)

Thanks in advance for your help. :D
