hello, i have a slight problem with my psu and that is that it has only 2x 8pin (not 6+2 pin) power connectors, and i have just ordered an geforce gtx 770 which requires a 6 pin and an 8 pin, does the 8 pin fit in the 6 pin? do i have to cut?

sincerely Redrei

What is your PSU? Never seen one that does not have 6 pin.

The 8 pin connector is most likely a cpu connector.

Look again for several 6+2 pcie connectors.

On a modular cable, one end should be 6+2; the other end goes into the psu and may be 8 pin.

no, it stands PCI-E on it, and i have checked all the cables

and it is two, would have been wird if there were 3 cpu connectors

If your psu does not include 6 pin pci-e connectors, something is amiss.
Check the web site to verify what should have been included. If you are missing some essential cables I would return/exchange the unit.

Depends if the 2 extra pins can overhang the connector on the card.

i can cut the whole of them off, but i thinkk i could cut them to be a 6+2 connector too, but which side should i cut on?

Ask your friend to give you the missing modular cables.

By the way are you sure it will work afterwards if i cut between the cables?

Best not to cut psu cables or connectors.
Ask your friend to find them.
If need be, they should be available to order individually.

They will work but it is better to have the right connectors.
