my sata hdd disk 1 is starting to fail. i did a disk copy of only used space to drive 2. i'm not able to boot windows from drive 2 by switching the hdd wires or by changing the boot drive selection at startup. all i get is the black screen with the blinking cursor.
disk 1:
*:system status=system
c: hp status=boot
d: factory_image
disk 2:
f:
g: hp
h: factory_image
i:
all drives show status=none except for those indicated.
why does disk 2 show "F:" instead of "*:SYSTEM" like disk 1?
do i need to make a bootable cd and somehow use it to make disk 2 bootable?
do i need to change the status of one of the disk 2 partitions in order to make windows boot?
thanks,
kenaan
