I plan on cloning my desktop's SSD HDD to a larger one. I will be using Samsung's migration software and want to know,

1) Do I simply unplug the old SSD HDD after cloning, and the pc will reboot to the new drive OR

2) Do I now unplug both drives and lug the new one to the original location (sata port) OR

3) Unplug the old drive and upon new reboot, go to bios and point the boot order to the new SSD sata port ?

Thank you very much.

It's not as hard as you think. After cloning the old drive to the new drive you need to:
1) Shut down the computer
2) Remove the old drive and replace it with the new one.
3) Reboot the computer.
If the cloning process worked then your computer should boot normally. You shouldn't need to go into the BIOS. I have done this at least four times and have never had an issue. I would keep the old one in a safe place until you're sure the computer is operating as it should. When you're comfortable that all is as it should be then you can secure erase the old drive and use it for storage.
Here's a link to a YouTube video I did on disk cloning (this is Part 2 - Drive Swapping): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ets9jslAgKU

This was done on a laptop but the procedure is essentially the same. Part 1 is on data migration.

Ok Thank you !

I was just going to install the new drive into a bay, then when done just swap the plug into the old drives port.

Things have changed a bit since XP -- seems its gotten much easier.

You're welcome. Please let me know if all goes well or if you encounter any problems.
