Hello guys,

So I'm looking into building my first computer and I need some advice as to what I should get. I'll primarily use it for gaming (league of legends, skyrim, D3, possibly BF4). I want to center the build around AMD CPU/Video Card.

Here's the list:
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core Processor ($174.99 @ Newegg)
CPU Cooler: Corsair H80i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($87.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: Asus M5A99FX PRO R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard ($124.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($93.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($69.99 @ Newegg)
Video Card: Asus Radeon HD 7970 3GB Video Card ($268.30 @ Newegg)
Case: Rosewill CHALLENGER ATX Mid Tower Case ($49.99 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: Corsair CX 750W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V Power Supply ($69.99 @ Newegg)
Optical Drive: Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD/CD Writer ($14.99 @ Newegg)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (OEM) (64-bit) ($99.99 @ Newegg)
Monitor: Acer H226HQLbid 60Hz 21.5" Monitor ($119.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $1175.20
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

My budget will around $1,200 but I can go up to $1,400 if necessary.

Thanks!

Looks like you did your homework. Good build. Only small suggestion I have is to maybe up the quality of the case a bit. Nothing wrong with that case, but it doesn't leave much room for good cable management if that is important to you.

Gotcha.

I was looking at the NZXT Phantom Full Tower Case. Only reason why I liked it so much was because it has the integrated fan controller, but I don't like the angled front intake and top exhaust.

I was also looking at the Corsair Carbide Series Air 540, just because I actually like the cubed style cases and from the reviews I've read it's a very high airflow case with a bunch of radiator mounting points. Although I might overclock later on if I feel the need to, I'd go with a H100i with this case. Which I might of just talked myself in to it now =P

I really agree with this build, that would run pretty much any game and keep it nice and cold at the same time.
