I currently have a macbook pro 8,2 that im gonna sell for roughly 600$. So I'd like to keep my price range around there. Although i may be willing to go over if there is a good reason. The only operating system I am planning on running is some variant of Linux but after my experience with the troubles I've had with this macbook I want to ask the community what they think. I want it to run smoothly with which ever distro I choose. Here is what im looking for though.

I want good battery life. Id prefer atleast 6-8 but will go with what ever i can get. I only want the intel integrated graphics on it. In my experience the dedicated video cards are not really worth the trouble with linux.

Id like decent speakers although this is not a priority. Also Id prefer atleast 256gb of storage(preferably ~500gb). I want it to be able to last atleast 2 years and give me good performance.

As far as form factor I want it to be relitivley small. Obviously for the price there is only so much I can ask for as far as size but nothing to big if possible. And if possible(although i doubt it will be) Id like a 2 in 1 form factor(being able to transform to a tablet would be nifty). I realize this will probally cost more money.

Many thanks for any suggestions
