Am i the only one experiencing issues with the new total war rome 2? So i had a friend load up hes steam on my pc because my hardware is better.
The game was amazing while running a benchmark test and playing the new player prologue. With all settings on extreme and no anti aliasing fraps showed 50-60 fps and about 40fps during intense combat.
However when starting your own campaign that all changes, on the map screen im getting 35fps avg and its really sluggish. Dropping settings doesnt change a thing! Still getting the same fps which i assume means my gpu is handling it well. I play crysis 3 and battlefield 3 maxed out with low shadows and no anti aliasing, its how i play all my games even though maxed shadows and anti aliasing can be used. By looking around the web ive found that its starting to surface as a issue for people with high end to low end systems. Has anyone found a solution? I wanna buy this game on steam but im hesitant. Best i could find online was the game uses more cpu power then gpu and Total War is working to find a solution. Ill link my specs below.
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1
Yey I have found out on my rig in my sig that I had to turn down the settings to high to make it really playable but then I am running the game on a Nvidia Surround at 5760x1080 so extreme was just a little to slow. But on High the games runs about 50-60fps Vsync'ed. So over all still not to bad.
Nice resolution i doubt my rig could handle that resolution im using a 40inch tv so i doubt my tv could even get 5760x1080. Back to the topic i forgot to mention i use vertical sync otherwise i sometimes get screen tear. Im really not looking forward to playing it on high . I'm certain that i can run it on extreme or ultra. Lowest i went was very high with the map screen still lagging at 35fps hence thats why i think its the game using the cpu more for graphics as from Extreme to very high doesn't change map fps. I dont know maybe ill use high on the map screen and change the graphics to extreme for combat really frustrating idea though.
