Hi,
I want a second monitor for my laptop. I'm into photography, so accurate colours are important.
I was looking into a 27 inch (dell U2713H) but neither dell nor my laptop manufactorer can confirm that I can use hdmi 1.4 to use the full resolution of 2560x1440.

Now the choice is between Dell U2413 and Asus PA249Q.
I like the looks of the asus better (I'm an architect, so that counts!).
But apparently the asus uses PWM and can only reduce its brightness to about 105cd/m². Dell only uses PWM between 0 and 20% brightness (up to 120cd/m²) and is PWM free above that.

I'll mostly use the monitor to work at night, but always work in a lighted room.

Is the minimum brightness of 104cd something to consider? Or do you only need to go lower in really dimly lit rooms? Will PWM be worse at the lowest brightness? Or is that no reason to skip the asus?

I'ld take the asus based on the looks and the reviews, but the PWM makes me doubt. And there is no return policy in Belgium for professional buyers.. Any advice/experiences?

Hi - Those are 2 of the monitors I am also considering (when I upgrade in the near future) Anyway, I thought you might like the article linkied below to assist you. I was actually considering the Asus (The Eizo and NEC's are out of my price range) until I read it:
