GTX 660 ti with amd cpu

Hi i was wondering if a gtx 660 ti will end up bottlenecking my AMD fx-6100, and even if it did would the 660 ti be a big boost from a gt 640?

  1. Would probably bottle neck it a bit in some games. Yes it would be a huge boost from a gt 640.
  2. No it wont bottleneck and will be a big boost from a gt640

The GTX 760 has much better value. You could likely alleviate any bottlenecking with a solid overclock. And as the poster above me has stated, it would be a HUGE jump from a 640.

Some games it will, like Battlefield 3/4.

Alright that's good to know, ill choose between the 760 and 660 ti when i got some money in my pocket and i'll have to look a little more into overclocking later too. I will eventually upgrade my CPU to something better but for now i'm more focused on a GPU right now.

  6. Good deal. If you get some cash to spend on a CPU at some point, the FX 8320 has epic bang for buck. What motherboard do you have?
  7. I have a gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2. I do plan on actually upgrading this eventually also, i did look to be sure my gpu would work good with it and it shouldn't bother with it at all.
  8. Ok, that would need an upgrade for something like the 8320. It isn't much of an overclocker either. However, one thing at a time :)
