I'm attempting to overclock from 3.2 to 4.0. Initially I tried at 1.55 Vcore (highest possible) to see if it would turn on at all. It ran overnight between 68-70 Celsius under Prime95, which is fairly hot but as far as I understand not exactly a meltdown temperature. When I restarted the computer though, it wouldn't POST, and I had to reset the BIOS and start over. I'm fairly new to overclocking, so I thought that no POST means it's not a stable configuration, but for it to start once and then not start the second time seems illogical to me.
I decided to go to 3.8 GHz and I've been stress testing from 1.55 Vcore to (currently) 1.45 V, running at 59 celcius overnight on Prime95.
Hitting 4.0 is not really a necessity, as I'm just doing this for the experience of overclocking (and it's fun for some reason). But at the very least I'd like to understand if there is a reason for such odd behavior.
