Thats my build so far ignoring peripherals, as that is in a seperate budget consisting of £200-300.

If I could get some feedback on the linked core build that would be great, also an alternative to my green ram, however its the cheapest LP RAM I could find lol.

Build will be used primarily for gaming BF4, Rome:TW2, GW2, Metro and F1 2012/3.

Advice on any component or whether the build may not be that future proof is welcome.

I've seen news on the new AMD Hawaii cards Id rather get a 7970 than a new O.P card.

Thanks all.

That PSU is not good. Look seasonic , xfx , corsair new RM.
For example Seasonic 80Plus Power Supply M12II 620 BRONZE orXFX
550-650 is good. Seasonic "G" and "X" are really good.
Is this going oveer budget?

Or this?

This did look good too. http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/PowerSupplies/Modular+650W+or+less/650W+XFX+Pro+XXX+Edition+80PLUS+Bronze+Modular+Power+Supply+%5BP1-650X-XXB9%5D+?productId=53994

That GTX 680! really cheap ^^
For MoBo that is good. Other good is Gigabyte X-D3H that MoBo can do the OC too so VRM...
My suggestion is this cpu. http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/intel-cpu-bx80637e31230v2

It is better buy than 3570k It do have HT + 8 treads.
You need to OC 3570k to 4.5GHz to mach this cpu.
It lot cooler so you get more silent pc. It uses less wattage to give same performance that 3570k gives you. So you same money. And you can downgrade the MoBo because you do not need OC able MoBo.
Other good option is 4670k or new LGA 1150 xeon 1230V3.
Here you find out bit more about xeon how it works and how good it is.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OcB1BIyJ5j8

This way you can save on MoBo + getting cheaper cpu cooler.
But no need for that. Good MoBo is good no matter what cpu you use.
I like more gigabyte X-D3H but that asrock extreme 4 is good too.
If you have enough money to go for a lga 1150 build then do just that. They are the new ones out there :)

If you do not find new xeons from UK you can order here

and they do have super flower awesome psus.

Or modular one.

Thank you AxlFone your post was very helpful indeed, however I am now in a position to ask whether to get the E3 1230 V2 or I5 4670k or E3 1230 V3 ????:??:

The 1230 V2 in my opinion is so much better then the I5 3570k due to its heat and power usage being significantly lower, also it has 8 cores which I don't know if it is a positive because games aren't able to utilize that number of cores atm, so with the xeon 1230's am I future proofing myself? BUT for £8.00 more I can get a 4670k... which gives a little more performance, but more wattage required.

Link - 1230 V2 vs 4670K http://www.cpu-world.com/Compare/484/Intel_Core_i5_i5-4670K_vs_Intel_Xeon_E3-1230_v2.html

By the way if I do get a 4670k or 3570k I will overclock, but the heat temps and less power consumption of the 1230 V2 are too good to be ignored! The performance of the 3570k at 4.5Ghz is only 5% better than that of a 1230 V2 does the 4670k clock any better?

I appreciate the gratitude. This is simple. If you want to OC get 4670k.
If you want HT + 8 treads get xeon. Lga 1150 V3 you use better new MoBo.
Now I do not say that 1155 is bad idea. It is just older.

Xeon is better. Now we can notice that i3 with HT runs better games than one without HT.
So you get the benefit near end before you need to upgrrade new system.
OC dot give you much FPS in games. 4.5GHz OC gives you just 5-9FPS more.
And that same FPS boost you can get easy with better video card. Or OC our video card.

By the way if I do get a 4670k or 3570k I will overclock, but the heat temps and less power consumption of the 1230 V2 are too good to be ignored! The performance of the 3570k at 4.5Ghz is only 5% better than that of a 1230 V2 does the 4670k clock any better?

Yeah they are really good. You save because you uses less wattage. So in long term there is not much better cpu than xeon. :) It makes you build last longer too. Because OC can cause damage faster than you think. So no need really to take that risk.

Btw I tried to answer yesterday. But when I wrote the answer usb mouse and keyboard did "freeze"
I'm sorry to reply took so long. BIOS settings were not in order. After I did BIOS update.
Now remember to post your build and tell how it works.
Must ark that you do couple test with xeon. If you end up buying it.
Post intel burn test 15-30min with real temp results. And run some benchmarks too :)
And post picture of build to Toms build gallery :)
Good luck with your build :)

Again I am very grateful AxlFone due to careful consideration and much research this is my build http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/1HUG4 - However I feel that I may be going the wrong way with my MOBO as I wont be OCing my CPU, but I will OC my GPU.

Also I would prefer a MOBO around £75-100.

Thank you

If youd go with xeon 1230V3 then my suggestion is this.
Gigabyte B85-HD3 or ASRock Fatal1ty H87 Performance.
They are "good enough" with Xeon 1230V3.
