Hi friends, i wanted to know whether there is a substitute for Internet pass-through feature on android and if not than how can i use my computer's internet connection on my Sony Xperia L.

Solution
Why do you not just get a wireless router and use it on the connection your computer is attached to. Almost all phones can use a wireless connection.

You could use your PC as a router with software like connectify but you would have to have a wireless card in your PC. Not always the best plan since you have now converted your expensive PC into a cheap router that you have to be careful what you run for fear of disrupting the other devices.

I appreciate your answer bro but i am looking for an application/software which can be used on other android phones like sony as the internet pass through only works on HTC.
I can go for connectify or can get a router but i want to have an Internet pass through application or its substitute which can work on my Sony phone.

You can use reverse tethering but it requires you to root the phone and many say it can be a little flaky to use.

Obviously the trade off is if you brick your phone running root apps compared to buy a router or some other method.

Another concern should be the tethering in general. Many people root the phone just to turn on normal tethering/hotspot when they are restricted by the phone company. Mostly its disabled because they did not pay for it. The phone company does not care a lot if you root the phones but if they detect you turn on tethering they may charge you even though you are only using it for reverse because they are greedy. I am not sure how they detect when you turn tethering on but you will see many discussions from people who have been caught and if a proxy/vpn can hide it.
