Hello!

First of all my system build is

i5 2500k OC at 4.6ghz
Zalman 9800 cooler
Gigabyte Z77x UD5H
OCZ Vertex 120gb SSD
Samsung HDD 500gb
VTX 3D 7850 1gb
Corsair GS 700

So i have two monitors which are both LG E1911SX (http://www.lg.com/uk/monitors/lg-E1911S-led-monitor) Both of which have VGA only inputs.
So my first monitor is running through the first port on the back of my 7850 which is a VGA to Dvi adapter. DVI what, i'm not entirely sure.
Anyway, i bought a second adapter for the second monitor but it wouldn't connect at all, but not wanting to buy lots of adapters and reading something about DVI-I ports and DVI-D ports i decided to buy a VGA to HDMI cable. Hoping this would work just fine and it isn't. I've tested both monitors with the first cable set-up and they're both fine so it's not the monitors.

Windows just isn't detecting a second monitor and i've tried CCC aswell but that's no help either.

My question is, are the other ports on my GPU broken or am i not doing something right? I've re-downloaded drivers previously but i don't think i got the right ones.
I'm really struggling to not throw everything out of the window right now. Any help would be great, cheers!

Most cards will have two DVI ports on them. One accepts both digital and analog inputs. The other does not. The one that you're using with a DVI to VGA will work as it's a DVI-D, while the other is a DVI-I and will only accept digital input. So you decided to get a HDMI to VGA adapter. This will not work as HDMI is digital and VGA is analog. You would need a very special and expensive adapter to convert HDMI to VGA. I would recommend investing in a monitor with a digital input. Hope this helps. I've had tons of frustration with the same problem you're having now.
