Using TV wifi for my Laptop

So i have a Vizio E500i-A1 50" 1080p 120Hz LED (3.19" ultra-slim) HDTV with Built-in WiFi Smart TV. What are my actions if i would want to use my laptop through its wifi to gain internet access?

I think you are mistaken on what your TV means by built in wifi. Your TV can connect to your wifi so it can use the internet for it's applications like pandora etc... The TV itself is not a wifi router which gives the interwebs to other devices.

Ok cool so i need to purchase a router and get on a internet plan. I was told by different people that i had to get a router and a plan and then i was told i can just go off the internet off the tv. Thanks!

You may not need to go buy a separate router. If the internet service provider (ISP) you choose comes with a wireless router you will be good to go, if not then you will need to buy one.
