Im building a system for CADD and rendering via 3dsmax, sketchup w/ vray plugin in them.. Im also gonna be using lumion .. I checked lumion's site and their suggested top performing gpu for the software (titan being the best recommended) are titan 680 660 Ti and maybe other GTX 7's and 6's family, They also recommend ATI but I noticed that GTX 680 had better performance than HD 7970.. I've also seen forums saying that other engineering/architecture industry softwares use NVIDIA CUDA other than opencl..

Is it a good choice?.. Im kinda confused

It should be pretty good. You could also consider the GTX 770, which uses the exact same graphics processor as the 680, just at higher clocks and with faster memory.

If you use stuff that relies on CUDA, well then Nvidia is better than AMD. Whereas AMD tends to have better performance than Nvidia on OpenCL (but at least Nvidia can still run OpenCL, whereas CUDA is strictly Nvidia-only).
