Specs first

Intel i5-3570k cpu
Gigabyte Intel z77 ATX board
Galaxy GeForce GTX 660 Ti GPU
OCZ ModXstream Pro 600W power supply
Patriot Viper Xtreme 8gb 1600 memory
WD Caviar Blue 1TB SATA HDD.

My second build, this one is for the wife. I put my first one together last summer.

So I put it together, power button/light on the board lights after power supply is turned on. Power button on case pushed, no fans, no lights, no beeps. Found my way to the "Read this before you post" troubleshooting sticky on this site. Ran it from top to bottom. Disconnected everything, took out board, found extra standouts, removed them, and double checked my wiring, reseated gpu, reseated memory. Put back together, same thing. No lights (except motherboard power button/light), no fans, no anything.

I hate having to make a post that everyone hates seeing but I'm not sure what to do from here. I was considering ripping out the power supply from my computer and putting it in this one to rule that out. Good idea? It's also a 600 watt. Trouble is all the connections seem so different from my other one. Probably just my imagination.

Thanks for your time, any advice you have I'll take. I have a Fluke meter so if it helps to check power in places let me know where to check.

Solution
Take the board outside the case, leave connected only CPU and CPU fan, place the board near the other computer (put it on the board's box) and connect only the 24 and 8 pin power cables from the working power supply. Start the board by shortly touching with a screwdriver the 2 pins corresponding to the case power switch (where the wires from the case power switch get connected to the motherboard).
See if the CPU fan is spinning.

Deemo13, the 8 pin? If yes then yes I had it plugged in. It's good to be sure. I know on every resource I was looking it said that was most basic and the first to check. Thanks for your reply.

Alexoiu, I did what you said to the letter and as soon as I touched the power posts my computer fired right up. Performed the same experiment on the new power supply and she fired up. So the culprit is the case power switch and/or the wiring for the power switch? Am I close? haha. Also, thanks for the reply.

Hooked everything up on the outside of the case and everything worked perfectly. Disconnected, reinstalled in case, and everything worked. Did it just need to be shocked a la heart surgery? Thanks so much for your help alexoiu. Installing Windows on it as I type this.
