Random hanging for about 10 seconds then recovery.

Hi,

I recently wiped my PC and have been having trouble with it ever since. I've searched around and been unable to find a solution.

Every now and again the computer will just hang for about 10-15 seconds and then recovers. If I click a lot during the hang the speakers will beep once the computer recovers.

It doesn't always recover though and sometimes will reboot with a BIOS message saying "Hyper Transport sync flood error" (a notorious error among some MSI motherboards that I don't think anyone has yet to find a solution to and can seemingly be caused by anything).

Despite the BIOS message I believe it to be a software error as it only started happening after wiping my PC. Before the wipe I never had the hangs or the Hyper Transport errors.

Other things to note it only seems to happen when I'm on the Desktop and I'm not entire sure if it has ever happened while I don't have an internet browser open since I have one open 90% of the time. It's never happened while I was gaming. I've tried different browsers and had the same problem.

Things I've tried:
Updating all drivers.
Unplugging certain peripherals.
Hard Drive scan.
Anti Virus, Anti Malware, Anti Spyware scans.
Cleaning the registry.
Upping the HT clock on my CPU (some claim it is the cause of the Hyper Transport flood error).

I'd rather not have to wipe (nor is it guaranteed to fix the problem) has anyone bumped into this problem before and found a solution?
