Which motherboard that can accommodate XFX 7870 GPU and AMD 6300 an 1600mhz RAM. Not going to overclock or nothing fancy like that.

Any motherboard that uses the AM3+ socket will work and will also have the pcie slot for the gpu. Pick one that suits your budget. Asus, ASRock and Gigabyte all make multiple boards for that cpu - get one with with either 970 or 990 North bridge and you're good to go.

Do you need to buy just the m/b and cpu, or do you need to buy an entire build?

What's your budget?

What is the intended use of the system?
