How can I use a wifi projector as a second monitor with extended desktop in Win7? Epson says Win7 doesn't include the Virtual Display Driver, (required by their software,) that was included in XP and they have no work-around.

smorizio, Sorry, not the answer I needed. The key word here is wifi (wireless). Since there's nothing to plug into the VGA port of the laptop, Win7 isn't showing it in the list of displays in the "Display" control panel window.

If I plug in a dummy VGA plug into the VGA port of the laptop, to generate a fake monitor, can the EasyMP software mirror the resulting extended desktop area onto the wireless projector?

Were you able to find a solution to this? I am also running into the same issue.

ssimonds,

I've built the fake monitor VGA dongle and just need some time to test it out. It appears the thread "How to trick a PC into extended desktop" has a registry tweak to extend the desktop by changing the resolution. I'd like to have a shot at that, but for the next couple of months, I'm working on other priorities. Perhaps some Saturday I'll get an opportunity. The referenced part of the registry appears to be fairly similar to XP in Win7, so it looks like that would be a potential path to go. I don't know if the dongle would still be required for that. It would be really beautiful if we could leave it out completely.
