So by default when using PE's "Replace task manager" option, it invokes in a non-privileged state, disabling viewing network I/O, system processes, etc.

I've tried setting the procexp.exe file to run as administrator, but when launching the task manager I get the error "'C:\Windows\system32\taskmgr.exe' The requested operation requires elevation"

I've done some googling and there doesn't appear to be much info on how to accomplish this. Surely I'm not the only one that wants to Shift+Tab into PE and view network I/O. Any ideas?

I can confirm your issue, to make it worse at least for me trying to turn off UAC(thus your account would be elevated all the time. NOT RECOMMENDED) I got a message saying it could not find the task manager.

It also seemed to mess up my network shares, but that ay be my fault.

Best I can recommend would be setting a shortkey to run the program.

-Leave the compatibility settings to run it as admin
-Pin it to the Start Menu
-Use the properties of this new shortcut to give it a shortkey combination(sorry to say shift + tab does not work. Ctrl+shift+~ may work for you).
-Press the short key to open an elevated process explorer(you will see a UAC prompt).

Another option is to pin it to the taskbar as the first item and hit Start + 1 whenever you want it.
