Hi, I'm very new to PC gaming, and I'm building on a very tight budget so I can't afford much. I'm just trying to get as much gaming power out of my rig for as little money as I can.

I wanted to know how good a system like mine would run games, like what kinds of graphics settings would it run on, and what FPS would it be estimated to run at?

It will have:
CPU: Intel core i5 3570k
GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition OC
RAM: 8GB Corsair Vengeance 1866MHz

It's hard to give examples of games I want to play, but I want to play games like BF3, BF4, MechWarrior Online, Planetside 2, etc.

Solution
BF3 at 1920x1080 on high you'll get 65-70 fps, perfect for a 60hz monitor. You should get that across most games, though obviously it will go down the more demanding games get. the 7870 is a good but though, i love mine.

Thank you, I'm actually very glad to hear from the owner of a 7870. 60-75 FPS is excellent, that's exactly what I was hoping for with this build.

Also very good to hear because I have a 60hz monitor as well, though mine isn't 1920x1080, I need a new one, mine is only 1280x1024.

Thank you very much for the input.

Nah, only for a little while, I'm building my PC in parts. The first part is the basic components, the 2nd part is accessories. When I save up the money, I'll be buying a really nice 1920x1080 monitor along with gaming mice & keyboards & stuff.

I'll only be running the 7870 on this resolution for like 3-4 months or so, and then the screen will be updated.

Later on I'll be upgrading the GPU as well, might either try to do a 2x 7870 crossfire setup, or just move to a stronger GPU in general.

Unless of course the GPU won't work with this resolution? I'm not that great with GPU's, hopefully the 7870 will run on my screen? It has all the appropriate ports so I was assuming it would work?
