I was trying to remove the extra steps at power up for logging in users, just make computer turn on with no questions. Somehow it began asking for a password that I didn't put in initially. So I pulled out the Mother Board 2 pin jumper. That fixed the PW problem, but now says "cannot load operating system". I put in a Windows XP Home reinstall disc, but it goes to a point then blue screens with a 0X-00000007 etc error, says computer shut down to protect computer. I deleted all the data on the hard drive, reformatted it, re portioned it, sort of. I need windows XP to run certain software for machine control, needs the parallel and serial ports. Nothing I have tried works. Any ideas greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Problem was in bios, had to change disc to ata instead of achi, then it loaded up fine.
