Logitech G19 Broken Shift Key?

Hey guys,

Today I noticed that the shift key somewhat stopped working. At first it wasn't so bad, but now the keyboard is almost unusable because the shift key only works like 5% of the time. I tried it on other than just that game and the key still isn't working. There has never been any physical damage to the keyboard, and nothing has been spilled on it.

What gives? Is there something I can to to fix this?
Thanks!

Not directly familiar with the G19, but if you want to attempt a repair, the Shift can usually be lifted off most keyboards by gently levering under a corner with a knife blade. Keep your finger on the key to stop it bending and snapping. There is usually a spring underneath the Shift key but putting this back isn't too difficult.

If the key isn't obviously damaged, blocked with gunge and the spring is working okay then there is probably little you can do to repair anything. However, as this is a very high-end keyboard, it might be worth contacting Logitech and checking on spare parts or their repair service?

Thanks, I'll see if I can pop the key off.
I'm pretty sure my warranty is no longer valid so I'm not sure what Logitech would do.

They would probably still do a repair for you, but you would be charged (and often not cheap).

Emailed them, they said they could not do a repair. :(
What should I do...just get another keyboard or is it something I can fix myself?

It still depends on what's broken & how confident you feel. You'll need to take the key off to see if it repairable by you. If its a circuitry problem then it probably can't be repaired. You can always try a repair shop & see if they can help.
