I'm currently building a new comp on budget and was wondering if my old ATX 460W 12V will still work with my build or should I get a new one, if so could you suggest some please. I heard go Antec or Corsair?

Mobo: Asus M5A97 R2.0 AM3+
CPU:AMD FX8320
Memory:undecided probably 2x 4gb 1866mhz or 2133mhz
GPU:Asus Radeon HD7850 2GB
PSU:?

suggestions on Ram would be appreciated too.

Solution
Hum, how old are we talking? The specs on the side of the PSU would be helpful. If its a not a decent quality 460w I would just trash it and grab a new one. No use spending 300+ dollars and having the whole system die because of a bad PSU.

If it came out of a prebuilt for example I wouldn't even bother. While not horrible PSUs I just don't like the idea of reusing something we don't know much about.

Even something like a CX500 which you can usually find for 40 bucks (sometimes on sale for 20~) is much better than no name brands.

As for ram get the cheapest stuff available... Well not CHEAP but... "cheap" as in not expensive but still good quality. Anything from Crucial/corsair/Patriot/G.skill/Mushkin.... etc...

Yeah, I thinking of that Antec one too, i'm going to grab that or a CX with modular like the antec, thanks a lot guys. Now for the Ram :), I will most likely get some G.Skills cause i heard they were a solid company or go for something cheap just 1866 and low CL.

If your primary purpose for this machine is gaming, ram speed doesn't matter. Honestly at all.

Just letting you know :)
