Can't run games at 1920*1080 with GTX 550TI.

Hey,
I cant run several games at 1920*1080, like DotA 2 and valve's games, but I have several games that I can...

I dont know whats the problem, I cant even force them and if I am trying to they are just running on the minimum resolution....

any ideas how to make them run on 1920*1080?

The highest resolution that it offers me is 1280*1024 or 1280*720...

note:
I connected it with VGA,
when I am using HDMI cable its just giving me weird colors and looks even worse.

From my knowledge , VGA is not possible to make the screen to 1080p ~

But from your note : seems like it is your GPU or your Monitor HDMI port have problem or maybe the cable ~
Do u try it with other cable ~
If u want to play it on 1080p , the only thing that u must do is connect your GPU to Monitor on HDMI port ~
If not , it is not possible ~

Is this a new graphics card? Have you updated your drivers? Do you have old competitor drivers still on your computer?

From my research on website, do u have alt VGA cable to the Monitor ?
Or is your monitor really capable of 1080p resolution ?
