I'm considering adding a used video card to my Emachines W3115 computer. I know I should just hurl it into a dumpster, but I can't afford a new computer for a month or two. It has all original parts except the ram has been upgraded to 2 gigs. What are my options with or without upgrading my power supply?

That is a pretty old computer, I would not waste any money upgrading it now just months before you get a new one. It's like driving a car for 10 years, then buying all new tires the day before you junk it. I guess if you find a $10 card somewhere you can toss in there but it won't do much for you with that CPU and 2 gig of RAM.

Something like a nVidia GT210 or a Radeon 5450 should be cheap and don't use much power at all. No need to go for anything faster in that system.
