I don't think that it will still bottleneck. And if it would, it will be minimal.

You might see a bottleneck on a CPU intensive games. Other than that, I don't think you will see a serious bottleneck.
But it would be better if you tell us what games you are going to play...

Yes it will. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-fx-pentium-a...

You would be better off with a FX 6350, or equivalent Intel CPU.

PS: CPU intensive games only for the most part though, or games that can use more than 4 threads. BF3 multiplayer for example. In BF3 you would be fine in the single player aspect, but the multiplayer part will make the FX 4100 hurt a bit for sure. It is increasingly becoming more common in the games coming out now, and in the future to use more cores/threads.

I agree with sincreator. The FX 4100 is a tier 3 in AMD's gamer CPU hierarchy.

I believe you need to jump to a tier 1 AMD CPU from above,Jumping 1 tier to tier 2
isn't going to be a wise investment. Look at FX6350, 8150, 8350, etc.,
whichever you can get the best deal on.

Hmmm most of these games need CPU horsepower.
Upgrading your CPU will also help.
Skyrim performs a little wierd on AMD CPUs. Go with an intel like 4670K if skyrim gaming is vital for you.

It is a def upgrade in CPU perf from where you are, and should pair pretty well
with a 7950. If you can swing it budget wise, go for it.
