Hello all, I'm planning to upgrade my pc. I wanted to know if I get hd 7950 it will bottleneck with fx 4100 oc to 4.5 GHz?

Solution
Yes it will. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-fx-pentium-apu-benchmark,3120.html

You would be better off with a FX 6350, or equivalent Intel CPU.

PS: CPU intensive games only for the most part though, or games that can use more than 4 threads. BF3 multiplayer for example. In BF3 you would be fine in the single player aspect, but the multiplayer part will make the FX 4100 hurt a bit for sure. It is increasingly becoming more common in the games coming out now, and in the future to use more cores/threads.

I agree with sincreator. The FX 4100 is a tier 3 in AMD's gamer CPU hierarchy.

I believe you need to jump to a tier 1 AMD CPU from above,Jumping 1 tier to tier 2
isn't going to be a wise investment. Look at FX6350, 8150, 8350, etc.,
whichever you can get the best deal on.

I'm planing to move on better cpu aswell. I was thinking about the fx 8350

Hmmm most of these games need CPU horsepower.
Upgrading your CPU will also help.
Skyrim performs a little wierd on AMD CPUs. Go with an intel like 4670K if skyrim gaming is vital for you.

It is a def upgrade in CPU perf from where you are, and should pair pretty well
with a 7950. If you can swing it budget wise, go for it.
