So, i realize that the lack of solid info may make this a silly post to address at this point but, without the input from stupid Fanboy's on either side, can anyone speculate as to whether or not they think this card will be half decent and worth waiting for? And what do you think to AMD's current lineup and predicted future prospects?

p.s: if you a fanboy then please for the love of god do not answer this post as i don't want to listen to a single minded arrogant turtle. Thankyou.

This is kind of an ambiguous question. If you are talking about pure performance we already know its going to be great. Leaked benchmarks already show it beating or competing with the Titan.

If you are talking about price/perf ratio it will still...

If you are talking about price/perf ratio it will still probably good because rumors suggest that it will be priced around the 600$ mark.

As for whether it will be worth waiting, thats a question that varies from person to person? If you are gaming on 1440p or lower then it will be overkill. If you are gaming on higher reso's then yes.

As for future prospects with AMD, amd seems to be in a strong position with supplying gpus for all 4 platforms currently (PC, ps4, xb1 and wii u). Also their new mantle API looks interesting. Also it is worth noting that Nvidia will not sit quietly. They will most likely reveal their titan ultra and 790 cards soon. All in all competition is good for the end user.

No because Nvidia is far better! Nah. jk :)
If the advertisement and the benchmarks released are true, the R9290X will surpass the GTX Titan in every possible way, it is just to freaking cheap for what its worth! If I had the money i would buy 2 :)

Putting aside the leaked benches, just by looking at the specs of the hardware one can speculate that will be in the 780/Titan Range quite easily. ANd with the rumored pricing being cheaper than the 780... Might not be a bad idea to wait and pick one up

THANK YOU PEOPLE, Nice to have a convo with people that are level headed and minded! i agree that this is gonna be very good news for the end user especially at the ridiculously low price of 290x predicted.

anyone have any thoughts on another topic i could use some input on?
I have a AMD fx 8320@stock speeds atm. Anyone think that this will cause a bottleneck?
I know it's a silly question in a way as it would not make logical sense for AMD to release a line of cpu's that would end in bottle-necking there new GPU's, but i have been wrong before, so any thoughts?

I know the 290X bf4 editions go up for pre-order on Oct 3rd globally (only 8k stock though) but as a official launch we are yet to find out, i am predicting a official GPU line up to be launched Nov or Dec time? but that's a prediction. They didn't really mention much about the launch details though :/
