Hi, i want to connect a xbox 360 controller to my windows 8 computer, but i want to ask a few questions before i buy one, since i otherwise use a ps3 controller. First of all, do i need any drivers for an xbox controller on windows 8, or are they preinstalled? Can i just plug the controller in to the pc and use it? If not, where can i get the drivers? Do i have to buy a controller that comes with a cd with the drivers on them, or can i use a controller that came with a xbox 360? And how do i connect a controller to steam?

I would guess, assuming it's a usb controller (that's the one i've seen) that it would be a plug and play type thing where windows will detect and download needed drivers like it would do for a new usb drive or usb mouse/keyboard. If not then microsoft would probably have drivers since it is their product. I would browse this page: http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/p/xbox-360-controller-for-windows#support
for more info, it seems like there is accessory software they list but i'm not sure if it is acutally useful
