TSSTcorp TS-H652L Not Reading/Writing discs Help?

I have a DVD/RW drive in my computer that won't read or write discs, I've taken it apart, dusted it out (quite dusty), wiped the lense with a q-tip(no alchohol), and put it back together. It now sits with the disk in it for about 5 minutes with the light blinking before it decides there's nothing in it. When I got the computer it did not want to read DVD's, but it worked fine with CD's. I borrowed a Sata DVD-RW drive from a friend and it worked fine, but I have to give it back shortly. Do I need to clean it with an alchohol cleaner or is the lense/laser shot?

Computer is a Compaq Presario SR2034NX, I believe the drive brand is either Samsung or Toshiba.

It cant hurt at this point to give then lense a good cleaning. Start with a qtip moistened with some dishwater, use some grease cutting detergent, esp if you smoke, This would be a water/detergent mix just like you were doing dishes but dont soak the qtip so its drips. Clean the lense and dry it off with the other end. then give it an alcohol wipe to remove any residue from the dishwater wipe.

I took it apart again and used some brand goo gone(less than $5), put some over the q-tip and rubbed it into the lense for a good 20 sec or so, didn't see any noticable dirt pickup on the q-tip so I cleaned out the rest of the drive pretty well. I put in an audio CD and whalah, it detected it almost immediately:
