SSD as primary drive?

I am thinking of swapping my 500GB HDD for a 500GB SSD. The SSD that I have in mind is the OCZ Vertex 4 which has had mixed reviews. This will act as the ONLY data storage device running in my system, I will use my HDD as back-up. What do you think? the OCZ Vertex 4 is very fast and according to the website I would buy it from it is up to date with the latest OCZ firmware. This is a question really for anyone which has or currently owns the OCZ Vertex 4, or has an SSD as their storage drive.

I play games and have multiple programs running in the back (Skype, SpeedFan etc). I will not do any benchmarking or rendering.
Thanks.

Yes, I have in fact been looking for a good drive to get and for me reliability is key. I am at college so money is tight, maybe SSD's will go down in sale by Christmas, would REALLY like the Samsung 840 Pro. Got about £170 now, guess my objective is to save. Thanks Man.
