Setting up multiple "computers"

I'm not very good when it comes to computers, and I was wondering if it was possible to run multiple "computers" from one, or a server. I would like to setup a total of 3 or 4 users at the same time using the same machine but separate peripherals. I'm sure this would require an upgrade on my current computer, but will likely be cheaper than buying two additional computers. If this is possible on a server than I will look into building one. Also what kind of software will I need, and how much will it cost?

- - User 1
Powerful computer or server - - - User 2
- - User 3

Any advice is appreciated! Thanks in advance!

What you are referring too is called "Multi-Seating" and is somewhat common. I know one guy on this forum who uses his portable ITX build through Multiseating as a portable LAN gaming machine. Rock up with that, people provide their monitor/mouse/keyboard and you have an instant LAN with no networking required.

This is the software he uses, cant vouch for it personally as I have never used it.
