This is my first time completely building a computer, so let me know if I'm missing anything.

This is going to be a budget build. It's not going to have an optical drive or dedicated GPU. I do not need an OS or peripherals for it.

I have been doing some research and the 3570k is usually recommended for emulating. I was also recommended the ASRock Z77 Extreme3 for the mobo, since I would like to overclock it as well. I have an SSD lying around for the boot drive, and I would be putting in at least another 1tb for storage, probably a 3.5" platter. I'm going to use G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB for my RAM.

What size PSU should I get for this build? this PC is always going to be on so I'd prefer it to be quite. Also, what case do you guys recommend? I'd like it to be cheap, it doesn't have to be an HTPC specific case - I'd like to not worry about cooling.

if you arent getting a dedicated gpu, id hands down recommend an amd build since their apu's are far superior to the intel 3000/4000. as for the psu, you wouldnt need more then a 400w, look for a modular one, and some are fanless so you could look into those.
