Hello, can you tell me which one to choose between this 2: AMD Radeon Hd 7790 vs AMD Radeon Hd 7770?
I don't know what overclocking is btw, mind explaining?
Also, I don't know which motherboard to choose, I've read about Asus z77 4m and about how good it was for overclocking, but I want one that's about that price and for gaming...

Solution

And for that cpu, you need an am3 motherboard, you can't use an intel z87 motherboard.

Out of the 2 cards, the 7790 is better. You don't need a z77 board for overclocking your gpu, only your cpu (It has to be intel lga 1155). Your motherboard depends on the cpu you are going to choose. You really don't need any expensive motherboards for a rig with a 7790..

Overclocking means that you "boost" your graphics card. Default core speed is 800 Mhz and you set it to 850. That is what overclocking is. With rig, he meant your computer. The 7790 is a bit better card than the 7770. You can max out a lot of games. How big is the price difference?

I know, i just said that because i'm buying a pc and i don't know to choose between 2 pc's, obviously one is better than the other one, it has this specs, and of course it's more expensive
CPU: intel i5-3330 ivy bridge OR intel i5-3570k
Graphics card (btw the only thing that's not proper for gaming is the gpu): intel graphics hd 2000
Motherboard: (think i'm getting) MSI B75ma P33
Ram: 4gb
Hard Drive: 500 gb SATA
Power Supply: Topower Top 650w
Case: Sentey Ds1-4234
okay so maybe i'm getting this one, the thing is idk because it's really expensive, or well not really in the us but this is south america, and then when i get more money i'll buy myself Gtx 650 ti or Radeon 7850.
my real dilemma is that the pc i can afford has all the things that are AMD like Phenom II x4 955 and AMD Radeon HD 6670, and of course a motherboard for the socket of this cpu,
what should i do?
thanks in advance

I already have 2 specific builds, the thing I lack is money lol,I don't know how to say how much money i can spend on the build because here the prices are very different from USA,
I guess you could do this
You go to this page www.mercadolibre.com.ar, search each part and all that prices can come up to 4000, so you just search a model of a brand of CPU or Motherboards and it says the price, it's our eBay xD
Here's the build I want, I'll be using it mostly for hardcore gaming like Battlefield 3, 4, GTA IV until V comes out, Farcry 3, etc: AMD FX 6300
AMD Radeon Hd 7790 or GeForce GTX 650 Ti
Ga-78lmt-usb3
500gb Western Digital HD
4gb ram
Don't know which 550w psu and either which case to get
Thanks in advance!
