Hi all!

I recently bought new gpu, this mode XFX 7790 Core Edition 1 GBl:
http://www.amazon.com/XFX-Radeon-128-Bit-Graphics-FX-779A-ZNJ4/dp/B00C5917LA
(did not buy it on Amazon, local shop)
I noticed it occasionally causes sort of screen flickering, like parts of screen do not get rendered, and i see only white/gray boxes in chessboard pattern. (it is not monitor problem, fraps would not capture it if it was, and I see it on both monitors).

It is sitting on ASRock A790GXH/128M
OCZ StealthXStream OCZ500SXS 500W
Phenom 2 940

Only possible incompatibility that I am aware of is that I have PCIex 2.0 and 3.0 is recommended for that card, but from what I know it should not be problem.

Effect: Image: http://imgur.com/APWRqjS (Taken from video playback)
Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G8crY4jMV9E (I can upload video as file somewhere if it will help).

There is no definite way to repeat it, it occures for example in browser, games...
Accidentally I found that it occurs fairly often when I scroll on opengameart.org when there are 144 images rendered. (it occurs on other sites randomly too).

Also one observation which may not be correct: sometimes when browsing and scrolling down fast, that chessboard pattern is only rendered in part where image is supposed to be (and like 10 or so pixels around it).

I tried 13.4 drivers, currently on 13.9
When installing 13.9 I got BSOD, (caused by some ati_***.dll, no not remeber which one). Rebooted, windows was running in "no video driver mode", uninstalled all amd drivers, installed new 13.9, restated and driver was loaded. Flickering was still present.

Temperature is fine, 41/42 C when idle, highest I saw it was 61 when I tried mining bitcoin/litecoin.
(Just for benchamarking purpose, it is not profitable)

Is this some "known" issue that can be fixed with relative ease or I should just return piece and let them fix it/get me new gpu?

EDIT1: Oh yeah, I am running win7 x64

That is really strange. I get that exact thing, but only on android phones internet browsers. Id like to follow this to see what would be causing this. I mean every android phone i own (galaxy ace and galaxy sII have that exact problem in their browser on pages that their formatting doesn't support firmware properly! Im getting that exact thing now as i browse msy on my android!

I however have never seen this on a cpu. Ill do a little research and get back to you. The only thing i can think of is transperancy multi-sampling enabled through cc centre?. That pattern is a transperent image, meaning that there should of been an image their but its not caching quickly enough to be displayed the instant you scroll.

I have the same card and get the flickering across the top of the screen, I have found that dropping the memory speed down to 1500mhz helps but doesn't cure it completely also turning off GPU acceleration in your web browser may stop any artifacting you get on web pages. I have not found a cure for the BSOD's though.

I have the same problem with the card xfx 7790. Screen flickers. In 13.9 i always get Bsod while browsing and doing some normal stuff..Bur bsod doesnt occur in gaming..i am just fedup. I spend whole month but still didnt find what the prob with the latest driver.

Changed the psu to check if it was the problem but stll i was out of luck.

Everythings run fine in 13.4 but the screen still flickers.

Any suggestion will be highly appreciable...
