I guess the title says almost everything. I want to move my Windows 7 install to a 256 GB SSD. It's 200 GB so it will fit, the only problem is that it is on a 440 GB partition. I can't downsize the partition due to bad sectors in Gparted....so cloning applications panic and don't allow me to copy the data. I'd rather keep the mbr and all that good stuff too. What should I do?

Solution
do file backup to a 3rd drive and then restore to the ssd is your only option.
Windows built in backup would work fine I beleive.

I don't have a 3rd hard drive over 100 GB, unfortunately
